The Shack Christian Community is a college-age/young adult ministry in downtown Columbia, South Carolina next to The University of South Carolina. The Shack operates within a Sunday night worship gathering on-campus, a small network of house churches and a rented apartment that serves as a cafe, staff office and place of hospitality to students and the campus community. Responisibilities include: • Advance the unique vision and approach of The Shack Christian Community; • Manage fill-time & part-time staff members (Girls Director, Worship Leader, Administrator); • Serve as a member of Shack Eldership; • Provide primary teaching for Sunday gathering; • Oversee Shack Student Council, their planning and their responsibilities; • Provide Pastoral counseling for singles, dating couples and a few married couples; • Contribute to fund-raising and the maintaining of financial support; • Mentoring inner-circle of male leaders; • Serve as a Chaplain-member of The Carolina Campus Ministries Association; • Submit to direction from co-elders and financial committee;

Who we are seeking
At least three years of ministry experience; • Married; • Over 25 years old; • Bachelors Degree; • Philosophically equipped for Missional, Organic, Emergent and Non-denominational approaches to ministry; • Proven record of innovation and creativity without a large budget; • Ability to speak and teach powerfully and articulately; • A loose leadership style that is very delegating, yet confrontational; • Capable of managing and developing inner-circle of leadership; • An approachable, hospitable and authentic demeanor; • A character that demonstrates transparency, conviction, integrity, purity, and humility.
