Reports to: Associate Director of NextGen Ministries Dept/Ministry: NextGen Ministries
Rate of Pay: $25,000 – $35,000/year dependant upon exp. 
Hours: Hours are full time to include Saturday and Sunday service time. Days off are during the week. 
General Summary:
This person will assist the children and student ministry department with recruiting, training, and caring of volunteers. This is a full time-salaried position. 
Requirements:

  • A strong calling to ministry.
  • Minimum 1.5 years of previous experience in Children’s or Youth Ministry in a paid or volunteer role in a multi-staff church environment; or equivalent combination of training and experience in a related field.
  • Proven experience of building and leading teams in effective ministry.
  • Ability and desire to support and articulate the Vision, Mission, and Critical Success Factors of Pikes Peak Christian Church.
  • Agreement with the Pikes Peak Christian Church Statement of Faith and Elders’ Position Statements.
  • Be a current member of Pikes Peak Christian Church or be willing to become a member.
  • Submission of required background check(s).

Scope of Responsibility:
 Recruit and train volunteers.
Plan recruiting weekends.
Appreciation of volunteers.

Decision Making:
Empowered to serve the staff, members, and visitors to the campus to the best of their ability baring in mind the need to be responsible with the church’s resources, professional integrity, reputation in the community, and always acting with a desire to treasure people like God does.

Communication:
Communicate with the staff, congregation, ministry partners, and community using clear, concise, and professional vocabulary with the goal of exchanging information, using God- honoring and people-treasuring oral and written communication skills.
&quotMajor Responsibilities and Duties:
Recruit and train volunteers.
Lead the recruiting efforts.
Oversee the substitute volunteers.
Appreciation of volunteers. 
Champion the training of the NextGen Ministry team by organizing and working together with the other members of the NextGen Ministry team to implement training on a quarterly basis. 
Maintain an accurate database on all NextGen Ministry Team Members.
Define, hire, and evaluate job performance of the childcare workers and team members.

Qualifications:
Active, growing, and consistent relationship with Jesus Christ that is daily exhibited by the “Fruits of the Spirit” of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self control. (Galatians 5:22-23)
Strong oral and written communication and organizational skills.
Must be available for some weekend trainings and evening meetings.
Proficient Data Entry skills.
 Ability to use Microsoft Office Tools, ability to create visually exciting fliers, communication tools, and be willing to learn ACS database.
Ability to work independently and in a team environment with confidential information.
A teachable, cheerful, servant oriented, and grace filled attitude.

Physical & Mental Demands:
Must be able to use stairs and lift and move over 20 pounds.
Ability to handle high pressure and time sensitive situations with grace and integrity.
Ability to work weekends, holidays, and outside of “normal” business hours.
