While Muslims gathered for the first historical mass prayer to “Allah” they must not be completely pleased with the numbers. It wouldn’t be the fact that more Muslims didn’t show up? No. Already Christians apparently are the target of blame.
The event was visited by protesters. There should have been no protests. Everyone has the right to pray. The Muslims also shouldn’t blame anyone for their numbers either.
WASHINGTON, DC - Organizers of Friday’s “Islam on Capitol Hill” event blame opposition by some Christian groups for a much smaller turnout than they anticipated.
Estimates of the number of Muslims who actually gathered for prayer, lectures, and reading of the Quran outside the U.S. Capitol ranged from 1,000 to 3,000 — a fraction of the 50,000 that organizers expected.
