The young muslim girl who converted to Christianity has been ordered back to Ohio to have her case handled there. Will she, so close to becoming an independent lady, be placed back into the home she feared would kill her? It is very likely that the publicity will serve to protect her. Of course everyone will be watching to see if she disappears from the United States or something “Tragic” happens.
ORLANDO, FL – The teenager who ran away from Ohio to Florida because she feared physical harm for converting from Islam to Christianity has been ordered back to Ohio.
A Florida judge said Tuesday that 17-year-old Rifqa Bary, who has been staying in Orlando, should return to her family, who live outside Columbus — but only after her parents provide immigration paperwork and other officials ensure she can continue her schooling through a Florica virtual school, says the Orlando Sentinel. The judge said he will sign the order when he gets the documents on her immigration status.
The family is from Sri Lanka but currently reside in Ohio. The teen’s attorney says she fears returning to Sri Lanka.
Bary has been in foster care in Florida while her case was being reviewed. The judge says he will turn over the case to an Ohio court in the next few weeks, but no order has been signed yet.
