British Airlines has apparently succeeded in stripping a cross of a check-in clerk at Heathrow Airport. The 58 year old woman violated the Uniform Code on jewelry. She launched an appeal and lost as the Employment Appeal Tribunal didn’t think she suffered any religious or belief discrimination.
Really this isn’t a real do or die topic. Except for one aspect of the absurdity of this case it might simply be listed under the forgotten archives of complaints. How is it that they feel so emboldened to take on the Christian religion and cower in fear with the Muslim religion’s demands.

So what do they find so threatening by this woman’s cross when they tolerate something that so blatantly undermines the future of their nation?
The Court of Appeal heard that the BA dress code made no distinction between necklaces worn as a “manifestation of belief” and for cosmetic reasons, and as such did not accommodate Miss Eweida's faith.
Karon Monaghan QC, for Mrs Eweida, said BA had allowed Sikh men to wear a turban and Muslim women to wear the hijab.
However, the previous ruling on the case had found that preventing Mrs Eweida from wearing a cross was not discriminatory because Christians ‘generally’ do not consider wearing a cross as a requirement of their religion.
Outside the court Dr Reid, the Labour MP, said: “It sends a signal that Christians don't enjoy the same protections under the law as those from other religions whose dress requirements are accommodated in the workplace.
“That is not the case. If such a signal is sent out it will play into the hands of extremists. This woman's cross was as important to her as the hijab or turban are to others.”
