Christ Community Church in Spring Lake, MI has gone Universalist accepting everyone. Of course most Congregations accept anyone and welcome them to attend but this is a melding of Spiritual ideas and the cross is offensive to portions of the new progressive movement. So it was removed causing a stir in the media.

While many may be shocked, in reality the theology that led to this moment isn’t new.

You have as many gods as you have towns, O Judah; and the altars you have set up to burn incense to that shameful god Baal are as many as the streets of Jerusalem.’ – Jeremiah 11:13

This isn’t new but an old path taken by God’s people. While spiritual sounding it has removed the unique and urgent message Christ had given his followers. So whether the cross is there or not something far more important was long ago removed. What might that have been?

…”This is my Son, whom I have chosen; listen to him.” – Luke 9:35

It’s a free country to believe anything they choose. Thankfully they also removed the name so they don’t create any further confusion by calling themselves Christian. HT to Museum of Idolatry- NEWS VIDEO.

Here is a their statement of belief from their bulletin.
